John has a passion for client relations and prides himself on being attentive, available, and tough against opposition. Having graduated from law school and having passed the Georgia Bar during a pandemic, John knows how to persevere and finish the job even when faced with extreme circumstances. Even before graduation, John was drawn to serving others and taking on challenging situations. While pursuing his law degree in a full time capacity, John also worked as a student attorney taking on the Internal Revenue Service on the behalf of low-income clients who could not pay their tax obligations. John continues with the same fortitude to fight for his clients’ rights no matter how daunting the opposition may be.
Prior to joining Dermer Appel Ruder, John worked with Atlanta personal injury attorneys and assisted in the recovery of more than $1.2 million for their clients in less than a year. Additionally, John has exhibited excellent trial advocacy skills during his young but accomplished legal career.
John grew up in Watkinsville, Georgia and attended North Oconee High School. Of his nine siblings, John is the only person in his immediate family to become an attorney. John cites his parents’ strong work ethic and commitment to family as inspiration for becoming a lawyer. John understands the importance of maintaining strong family relations and seeks to apply this value to the practice of law. In his free time John enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and softball, as well as cooking. John is also proficient is Spanish.
John graduated from the Georgia State University College of Law; he earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in History from Young Harris College.
John is licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia and is a Registered Neutral for general civil cases.
