Taryn set her sights on becoming an attorney since she was a child. Taryn’s school invited a panel of veteran judges and distinguished attorneys to discuss the court system and legal profession. Ever since then, Taryn had a desire and passion to help people through the law.
Taryn received her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she graduated with honors at the top of her class. Notably, Taryn “booked” (received the highest grade) in ten of her classes in law school. Taryn secured a spot as a Senior Editor on the prestigious Alabama Law Review. She also earned a place on Alabama’s highly competitive Moot Court Board and Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. Taryn was recognized for her excellent oral argument skills and superior brief writing.
Taryn also had the privilege of interning for the Honorable L. Scott Coogler in the United States District Court in the Northern District of Alabama, as well as for the Honorable Tommy E. Bryan at the Alabama Supreme Court. During these internships, Taryn was exposed to civil and criminal law in both federal and state courts, and she received an invaluable behind the scenes look into how judges make decisions and determinations in cases pending before them.
Taryn’s passion during law school was working in Alabama’s Mediation Law Clinic. She was a volunteer mediator specializing in contentious divorce and child custody disputes involving pro se (unrepresented) parties. Taryn also clerked at Hardin & Hughes, a Plaintiff’s firm in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, focusing on personal injury and employment matters. Taryn helped walk clients through the complex legal process from start to finish with compassion, understanding, and a strong attention to detail.
Taryn loves helping clients navigate the difficult, and often emotionally taxing, legal process. She is a fierce advocate who will tirelessly fight for a fair resolution for her clients. Her practice includes personal injury, premises liability, commercial and personal auto accidents, civil rights claims, employment discrimination litigation, and nursing home abuse.
Taryn grew up in Denver, Colorado, and has lived in every time zone in the contiguous United States. Taryn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon where she was a member of Kappa Delta. In her free time, Taryn loves watching college football with her husband (Go Ducks and Roll Tide!), spending time with her horses, and exploring Atlanta with her two dogs.
